chopp the bottle gourd into small pieces , soak the chana dal for about an hour
take oil in a pan add mustard seeds let them splutter , add hing or asoefotida , 2 chopped green chillies, curry leaves then add the soaked chana dal add a little water and let it cook for some . There is a tip if you cook this vegetable in a pressure cooker you can make it in less than 10 mins and i prepare it in that way . so you can add the chana dal and the bottle gourd together add 1/4 sp haldi powder, a little dhania jeera powder, a little jaggery and water . cook it in a pressure cooker for 5-7 mins or till you get 2 whistles . garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
